Ribbons at Safe Splash Swim School

Erica got 2 ribbons at swimming lessons this week. One is to acknowledge that she graduated Level 1 which was getting acclimated to water. She also graduated Level 2A which is going completely under water, kicking and dog paddling (digs), learning to come UP for air, wearing goggles & fins, climb out of pool with help, tummy float and back float.

She is now Level 2B and is doing most of that curriculum now, too. She just needs to learn to streamline glide 10 feet on her front and back, and tummy float independently. Her instructor said she will quickly advance to Level 3, which is suggested for ages 4-10 year olds. She's doing so well and is loving it!!

Butterfly Pavilion

Daddy, Erica and Carter assembled a model ant at the Butterfly Pavilion. Carter was hoping to catch a butterfly (which is frowned upon) but was never quite fast enough. Erica poses with a butterfly with the help of a Volunteer.

New Dora Rolling Backpack

Erica could have been an ad for Dora the Explorer! She's really proud and impressed with her new rolling backpack. It never goes through a mud puddle. She picks it up and carries it to a dry clean place on the concrete. This particular day she even had her Dora jean romper on!

Paddle boating in Avon, CO

We were waiting for Aunt Carolyn and Grandma to get out of church, so we went paddle boating next to my Uncle Brad's hotel. Erica will tell you that we were the RED boat, #14. In case you wanted to know......

Grandma Hughes visits Colorado

We picked Grandma Hughes up from DIA and took her up to Eagle where my Aunt Carolyn lives. Grandma makes it to Colorado from Illinois about once a year. Carter was definitely the more photogenic fella out of my 2. The blonde girl is our cousin, Gabby.

Heritage Square

CJ's summer picnic was held Aug 19th at Heritage Square in Golden, CO. The kids enjoyed riding rides. CJ and I took turns going on rides with them that required an accompanying adult -- which was 99% of them.

Kidstuff Karnival at Southeast Christian Church

The kids had a fun time at the church carnival exploring a fire truck, bouncing and playing kid games. Grandma and Pa Pa came out to join us.

Giraffe giving birth

Denver Zoo on Sept. 1st, 2007. We were not expecting such an exciting visit to the zoo. Luckily the kids still are and remain clueless.
